20 November 2014

Well it has been a while since I was on here.  So I better fill you in on what has been happening,  I did a bridging coarse to get into University and I am happy to report that I passed.  So next year I am starting my Bachelor of Nursing.

I am going to go part-time, because I don't want to crash and burn, I am wanting to work while studying so I am applying for jobs and fingers crossed I get something so.  I like working, I like the interaction with people.  I have loved being a Stay at Home Mum but now it is time to get back into the workforce.
In saying that, it is very hard to get a job - raising two children, running a house doesn't qualify you for much so it would seem.  I can see where employers are coming from in that I don't have skills that can be used and that I have children so I can be called out of work because the kids are sick.

My Husband has been very supportive of me following part of my dream - and I say part because when I was younger I wanted to be a Military Nurse and well I think I may be a wee bit to old to be in the Military.......while I did give some thought to joining the Reserves it would be something that I would have to give a great deal more thought to and would only ever consider it with the backing of my family.
Miss 9 - yes she has had a birthday since I last wrote and Master 8 are very excited at the thought of me being a Nurse, they have already told me that I can be the school Nurse! Miss 9 did say she wanted to be a Nurse like me, sadly that has changed once again but the rush and inflate of the ego was great while it lasted.

Oh we got a dog not a small dog ( he is a Rhodesian Ridgeback X - with what we are not sure, he is rescue dog), but he thinks he is when he tries to climb up on my knee and trust me when you have a 25kg dog sitting on your knee ( he weighs more than Master 8) it isn't ovelry comfy, then he starts to twitch and snore. Stimpy I did say she was a demanding geriatric cat and well it is true, she will not jump on the laundry bench to get her food ( a certain dog is fairly fond of the Whiskas vita-bites!!)when I am around, she sits there and meows until I lift her up she doesn't do it to anybody else.  We had a cat door put in for her - she sits at the kitchen door and meows untill somebody lets her out, bought her a cat bed - Patterson now has the cushion in his bed, the catching post that we bought - sold that on Gumtree.  She is very much boss of this house, but is kind enough to let my husband and I think we are!!
